Kype Muir Community Fund

Banks Renewables delivers Community Funds

This new fund is available to community groups across Strathaven and Glassford to help fund eligible projects. We hope in the first year of the fund to distribute to as wide a section of our community as possible. The Community Consultation Summary and Action Plan outlines the priority areas identified from the community consultation carried out in 2018 across our community. This document was reviewed in 2022 to ensure it remains relevant to support the ongoing fund. Projects added include provision of CCTV in Strathaven Town Centre.

Strathaven and Glassford Community Council forms part of the Kype Muir Community Panel, which oversees the Fund. Funding will be linked to projects in the Community Consultation Summary and Action Plan, with the document

If you wish to discuss your project with a member of the Community Council, send an email to strathavencommcouncil@gmail. com or contact one of the members named on the website on our Membership page.

The process starts with completion of an ‘Expression of Interest Form’.  This can be downloaded  by clicking this link: Kype-Muir-Expression-of-Interest-Form. To access the application on the County Durham Community Fund website follow this link.

Preparations are being made for the Kype Muir Windfarm expansion with turbine due for delivery during 2022.  This will increase output from the wind farm and result in more funds being available for the community.
