ABOUT US

Strathaven and Glassford community Council was set up by South Lanarkshire Council under the national scheme for Community Councils.

The objective of the Community Council is to represent the Community of Strathaven and Glassford, and to consult locally on issues of interest, including planning developments.  It can act as a link between the community and South Lanarkshire council, and also with its Members.

The Community Council meets once a month, on the last Tuesday at 7pm in the Balgreen Hall.  Its meetings are public and members of the community are welcome to attend to listen  and participate in discussions, and to raise issues of local concern.  The Community Council liaises with local Police.  We have members on other local Community Groups including the Strathaven Town Group, Strathaven Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme, Banks Windfarms and other groups, including Friends of Strathaven Park, Strathaven Balloon Festival, etc.

We are here to help the community and you can contact any member to raise issues or just to discuss concerns.
